Week 308 (4th August 2023)

Helena likes to get cosy under a blanket while watching TV.

Helena has a rectangular blanket made from 100% wool.

The wool in the blanket has a mass of 136g per m2.

The mass of his blanket is 952g.

The width of his blanket is 2.5m.

Calculate the length of Helena’s blanket.

Answer:

952/136 = 7m2

Area of rectangle = length x width        7 = 2.5 x length

length = 7/2.5 = 2.8m
