Suzy has just started her second year at university. In her economics class there are 40 students.
As it’s the start of term all 40 students have attended the first class!
Each student has either walked, cycled or caught a bus.
There are 22 girls in the class.
9 of the girls walked.
7 of the boys cycled to the university campus.
6 of the 10 students who caught the bus were boys.
Can you work out the number of students who walked?
Answer:
Total students = 40
G = 22
B = 40-22 = 18
Boys who walked = 18 – 7 – 6 = 5
Therefore total number of students who walked = 5 + 9 = 14
