• There are 6 different sandwich fillings.  

• There are 10 different drinks. 

• There are y cakes. 

There are 480 different ways to choose one sandwich, one drink, and one cake. 

Work out the value of y. 

Answer: 

Number of choices: 6 x 10 x y = 480 

60y = 480 

Y = 8 

Answer: y = 8
