Jamie is making his annual Christmas cake.  

The ratio of flour to sugar to treacle to almonds to butter is 4:3:2:1:1 

Jamie uses 150g of treacle in the mix. 

The weight of Jamie’s Christmas cake is reduced by 10% after it’s baked.  

Find the weight of the cake after it is baked. 

Answer: 

Weight of ingredients: 

Flour – 300g (150 * 2) 

Sugar – 225g (150/2 * 3) 

Treacle – 150g 

Almonds – 75g (150/2) 

Butter – 75g (150/2) 

Total weight of raw ingredients = 11 * 75g = 825g 

Cooked weight = 0.9 x 825 = 742.5g
