Alice is excited to be going to Glastonbury at the weekend with some of her family.

Alice is 9 years younger than Imogen.

Nancy is one third of Imogen’s age.

Daisy is twice Nancy’s age.

Alice is 27 years old.

What are the ages of Imogen, Nancy and Daisy?

Answer:

If Alice is 9 years younger than Imogen, then

Imogen is 27 + 9 = 36 years old

If Nancy is 1/3 of Imogen’s age, then

Nancy is 36/3 = 12 years old

If Daisy is twice Nancy’s age, then

Daisy is 12×2 = 24 years old

Imogen = 36 years old

Nancy = 12 years old

Daisy = 24 years old
